Joan Tetzel

Joan Margaret Tetzel (born June 21, 1921 in New York City , New York , USA , † October 31, 1977 in Sussex , England ) was an American actress.

Life

Joan Tetzel began her career in the theater and Broadway . In 1946 she made her film debut alongside Jennifer Jones in the film Duel in der Sonne , and a year later she appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock film The Paradin Case . Both films were shot by David O. Selznick . In contrast to the stage, where Tetzel celebrated many successes, she could not establish herself as a well-known film actress on a permanent basis. From the 1950s onwards, it was only seen in television productions. In 1965 she shot her last movie, her last role on television was in 1976 in the crime series Make-Up and Pistols with Angie Dickinson .

Joan Tetzel was married twice, most recently from 1949 until her death to the actor Oskar Homolka . Tetzel died of cancer at the age of 56 in Sussex, England.
