Joanna Miles
Joanna Miles (born January 23, 1940 in Nice , France ) is an American actress .
Life
Joanna Miles was born in Nice , France , the daughter of Jeanne Miles, an American painter, and Johannes Schiefer, a French art curator . In 1941 she became a US citizen. She graduated from The Putney School .
In 1973 she was awarded two Emmys for her portrayal of Laura Wingfield in the literary film adaptation The Glass Menagerie after Tennessee Williams ' play of the same name , for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama and Best Supporting Actress of the Year. Throughout her career, Miles has worked almost exclusively for television and has rarely appeared in front of the camera for independent films or cinema productions, such as Greetings from Hereafter , Judge Dredd and Sex and Breakfast . She became known to a larger audience for her role as Perrin , Spock's stepmother, in the television series Starship Enterprise: The Next Century .
From 1970 to 1977 she was married to William Burns. In 1978 she married producer Michael Brandman.
