Job Adriaenszoon Berckheyde
Job Adriaenszoon Berckheyde (* before January 27, 1630 in Haarlem , † before November 23, 1693 ibid) was a Dutch painter.
Life
Berckheyde was a student of Jacob de Wet and Frans Hals . In 1654 he was accepted into the Haarlem guild as a master craftsman, made a trip up the Rhine to Heidelberg with his brother Gerrit Adriaenszoon Berckheyde and then worked in Haarlem until the end of his life. He painted architectural pieces, landscapes and genre pictures, which are characterized by rich lighting and fine coloring. Of his not frequent paintings, the following are to be emphasized: the student studio of Frans Hals (Haarlem), his self-portrait ( Uffizi in Florence ), interior of the Amsterdam stock exchange (with the Duke of Arenberg in Brussels ), interior of the great church in Haarlem ( Dresden ), winter landscape (Berlin Museum).
