Gerrit Adriaenszoon Berckheyde
Gerrit Adriaenszoon Berckheyde (* 1638 in Haarlem ; † June 10, 1698 ibid) was a Dutch painter.
Berckheyde was a student of Frans Hals and his brother Job Adriaenszoon Berckheyde , with whom he lived in the Jansstraat in Haarlem. He worked with him for a while at the electoral court in Heidelberg and then in Haarlem . He mostly painted views of Haarlem, Amsterdam , Cologne , Bonn and Heidelberg, which he shares with small figures staffierte . The main images are owned by the museums in Amsterdam and Antwerp , the galleries in Kassel (flock of sheep), Dresden , Damplatz in Amsterdam and Schwerin .
