Jochen Baier

Jochen Friedrich Baier (born December 2, 1972 in Herrenberg ) is a German master baker and confectioner who is known to a wide audience as a jury member of the ZDF broadcast Germany's best baker .

Life

Baier comes from a family of bakers who run two bakeries in Herrenberg. In 1992 he passed the journeyman's examination to become a confectioner , and a year later that of a baker. This was followed by years of wandering and training to become a master baker, which he completed with distinction in 1996 at the Akademie Deutsches Bäckerhandwerk Weinheim . In 1997 he passed the master's examination as a confectioner at the Chamber of Crafts in Cologne with distinction and in 1998 the examination for business administration of the craft at the Munich Academy of Crafts . He had previously participated in international competitions.

Due to allergic diseases and asthma, he was temporarily banned from working by the trade association. In 2003 he took over his parents' business, which he is now in the sixth generation of the family, restructured and expanded.

He is a founding member of the national bakery team and has been a member of the jury of the show Germany's best bakers since 2014 .
