Jochen Richert

Jochen Richert (born May 9, 1915 in Zehlendorf near Berlin , † February 11, 1984 in Hamburg ) was a German manager. He is considered the founding father of the ARD television lottery .

In the mid-1950s, Richert was press officer for the Berlin relief organization, whose relief operations he coordinated. He recognized the opportunities that the still young medium of television offered and initiated cooperation with the First German Television . On April 28, 1956, the first television lottery took place under the title “Vacation Places for Berlin Children”. Richert invented the motto “With five marks you are there!” And acted as the draw manager. In his honor there is a memorial plaque at Königstraße 29 in the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf .
