Jochen Wolfram

Jochen Wolfram (born December 22, 1966 in Sendenhorst ) is a German sailor .

After finishing school, Jochen Wolfram learned the trade of agricultural machinery mechanic and then went to the armed forces for 12 years . There he was trained as an engine master for helicopters and a master helicopter mechanic and graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1999.

At the age of 6 he came into contact with sailing. Initially sailing in the Opti class , he switched to the Pirate in 1978 , which he sailed until 1989. Then, from 1989 to 1997, he was active in the 15 ( P-boat ) and 20 dinghy cruiser , with which he became German champion. He gained a lot of experience in the H-boat , kites and large maxi-yaws ( Swan , Wally ) at national and international championships. In 1997 the sporting career began successfully together with Reinhardt Schmidt in the star boat class . This ended in 2000 with the missed Olympic qualification for Sydney . From 2001 to 2003 he sailed with various helmsmen in the star boat until he met Alexander Hagen in mid-2003 . Hagen and Wolfram took part in the Olympic Games in Athens . From 2005 until its dissolution he was a team member in the United Internet Team Germany .
