Joe Greene (born February 17, 1967 at Wright-Patterson Air Base , Dayton , Ohio ) is a retired American long jumper .
Greene won the bronze medal in the long jump at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , a result that he repeated four years later at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . Both competitions were won by Carl Lewis .
Greene was also successful in indoor competitions: He won the silver medal at the 1993 World Indoor Championships with 8.13 m, while at the 1997 World Indoor Championships with a personal best of 8.41 m, he finished third.
At a height of 1.83 m, Greene's competition weight was 68 kg.
