Joe Macari (born September 27, 1966 in Aldershot ) is a British entrepreneur and former racing driver .

Racing career

Joe Macari had been an amateur club racing enthusiast since 1988, when he started to compete in national and international sports car races in 2005 . In 2005 he drove a Ferrari 360 Modena in the FIA GT Championship and made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans . After 21st place in the RAC Tourist Trophy (winner Pedro Lamy and Peter Kox in the factory - Aston Martin DBR9 ) there was a retirement at Le Mans .

In 2007 Macari started in Le Mans for AF Corse alongside his assignments for JMB Racing , where he drove a Maserati MC12 GT1 in the FIA GT Championship . His partners in the Ferrari 430 GT were Ben Aucott and the British racing car designer Adrian Newey . The trio came in 22nd overall and fourth in the GT2 class.

Entrepreneur

In 1988, Joe Macari began repairing automobiles in order to finance his racing car with the profits. The beginnings of a backyard workshop became a restorer of historic Ferrari and Maserati vehicles, well-known beyond the borders of the United Kingdom .
