Joe Nichols (born November 26, 1976 in Rogers, Arkansas ) is an American country musician.

Career

Favored by his family environment - father, uncle and grandfather were recreational musicians - Joe Nichols was involved in rock and country from an early age. At the age of 19 he signed a record deal with the small Intersound label. His first CD, Joe Nichols , did not sell well. A little later, the label went bankrupt.

Nichols moved to Nashville and got by doing odd jobs. He soon made contact with the scene through studio guitarist Brent Rowan and made regular appearances in the Grand Ole Opry . In 2002 his first CD Man with a Memory was released , produced by Brent Rovan. Nichol's father died shortly before the CD was released.

The single The Impossible with a catchy chorus made it to number three on the Billboard Country Charts. The next single, Brokenheartsville , even hit number one. Joe Nichols had already made the breakthrough with his first album. This was followed by a tour with Alan Jackson and another successful single. The Academy of Country Music named him "New Discovery of the Year 2002", the Country Music Association followed with a comparable award in 2003. The streak of success continued in the following years. His third album III , as well as the single Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off , his second country number one, reached gold status . The album Man With A Memory even went platinum.

At the end of the 2000s, the success then waned a little, the albums Real Things (2007) and Old Things New (2009) could not quite build on it, only the song Gimme the Girl was his third country leader in 2009 and the second gold single. In 2014, two more gold awards followed for the singles Sunny And 75 and Yeah .
