Joel Przybilla (born August 10, 1979 in Monticello , Minnesota ) is a retired American basketball player .

The 2.16 meter center last played for the Charlotte Bobcats . In 2000 he was drafted as the ninth player by the Houston Rockets . Przybilla has spent most of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played between 2004 and 2011. From there he moved to Charlotte in 2011. Due to a knee injury, he could not be part of the rotation as hoped and did not receive a new contract for the 2011/2012 season. He then signed a one-year contract until 2012 with the Portland Trail Blazers, for whom he had previously played from 2004 to 2011. After a year he left Portland again and signed for the 2012/2013 season with the Milwaukee Bucks , for which he was active for one season. In August 2014, Przybilla announced his official resignation.
