Trivia

In the multi-award-winning film "The Hurricane" with Denzel Washington , which deals with the life of Rubin Carter, the Giardello-Rubin title fight was presented for dramaturgical reasons as if Giardello owed the points victory to a racist boxing jury. In fact, it was a regular win. As a result of this misrepresentation, Giardello received $ 300,000 in damages.
