Johan Henrich Berlin

Johan Henrich Berlin (* 1741 in Trondheim , Norway ; † 1807 there ), also erroneously known as Johan Heinrich Berlin , was a Danish-Norwegian composer and organist .

Life

Berlin, the second son of Johan Daniel Berlin , organized numerous public concerts in Trondheim , was a co-founder of a musical society (Det Trondhjemske Musikaliske Selskab) and also a respected organ repairer . In 1787 he took up the position of cathedral organist at Trondheim Cathedral (the Nidaros Cathedral ) as his father's successor . He composed a. a. Symphonies , instrumental concerts , chamber music , sonatas , cantatas and an oratorio . Works received: two symphonies (both in C major ), a piano sonata and a piano sonatina (both in B flat major ), a sonata a harpsichord, violino e cello in E flat major , a cantata (1787) and numerous dances .
