Johann Adam Knipper the Younger (born August 26, 1784 in Harskirchen , † April 1, 1870 in Saarbrücken ) was an architect and builder in Saarbrücken.

Life

Knipper was born the son of foreman Johann Adam Knipper the Elder (1746–1811) and his wife Margaretha Anna Katharina Hügel (1757–1826). Knipper married Karoline Margarethe Mühlenbacher (1784–1863) on June 23, 1808 in Saarbrücken. The couple had 5 children.

In addition to the reconstruction of the Saarbrücken Castle and the restoration of the Castle Church, his special achievements as an architect include the construction of some residential houses in Saarbrücken that have been preserved to this day. He was also the construction manager for the construction of the Evangelical Church in Bischmisheim, one of the most important classicist buildings in southwest Germany. As a builder, Knipper worked closely with Balthasar Wilhelm Stengel .

Knipper is buried in the Alt-Saarbrücken cemetery .
