Johann Adam Nieberlein

Johann Adam Nieberlein (born February 17, 1662 in Eichstätt ; † December 28, 1748 ) was a German bishop and auxiliary bishop in Eichstätt .

From 1679 he studied theology in Dillingen, moved to Rome in 1682 and studied philosophy there until 1686. On March 17, 1686 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Eichstätt. He then did a doctorate in theology. In 1687 he took over the parish of St. Michael in Buxheim , in 1693 Beilngries , and Berching in the same year . In 1705 he became canon in Augsburg and in 1706 vicar general of Eichstätt. On March 17, 1708 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Eichstätt and titular bishop of Dioclea . On April 29, 1708, Johann Anton I. Knebel von Katzenelnbogen consecrated him as bishop . On December 16, 1725 he consecrated Franz Ludwig Schenk von Castell as Bishop of Eichstätt. He assisted in the ordination of seven other bishops. On September 3, 1710 he consecrated the pilgrimage church of Maria Hilf , on October 5, 1720 the parish church of Our Lady in Breitenbrunn , the next day the St. Sebastian's Church there, and on November 12, 1720 the church in Deusmauer . On September 15, 1744 , he resigned . He was buried in the Augsburg Cathedral .
