Johann August Scheibner

Johann August Scheibner (born February 4, 1810 in Ehrenfriedersdorf ; † August 11, 1888 ) was a German politician.

Scheibner, who comes from the neighboring mountain town of Ehrenfriedersdorf, was mayor of the Erzgebirge town of Annaberg from August 24, 1843 to January 31, 1881 . From 1845 to 1854 he was with a short break in the revolutionary years 1848 to 1850 as a representative of the 11th urban constituency in the 2nd Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament . He was secretary of the chamber on the state parliaments in 1850/51 and 1851/52. On the occasion of his retirement, he was made an honorary citizen of Annaberg on January 31, 1881 in recognition of his services acquired "through just and wise administration" .
