Johann Balthasar Pott

Johann Balthasar Pott (* 1693 / 1694 in Bielefeld , † 7. October 1751 in Hagen in Bremen ) was a royal britain Cob and Elector of Brunswick-lüneburgischer bailiff in Hagen and Stotel .

Life

Pott came from a Bielefeld civil servants' family and enrolled in Halle on May 8, 1713 as a law student . On January 24, 1726 he was appointed bailiff in Stotel and Hagen and took over the office of Stotel from its previous owners, the Hesse-Eschwegian heirs on May 16, 1726. He remained in office until his death in 1751, died the same year in Hagen and was buried in the church in Uthlede on October 16, 1751.

family

Pott married Sophie Dorothea Gebhardi († before 1746) in Ratzeburg Cathedral on October 22, 1733 . At least one daughter emerged from the marriage:

  • Johanne Dorothea Pott († April 23, 1804 in Wolfenbüttel ), ⚭ April 3, 1761 in Ratzeburg Cathedral Otto Christoph Engelbrecht (* February 5, 1722 in Stolpe on Usedom ; † February 14, 1778 in Wolfenbüttel), Princely Braunschweig Council and Consistorial Councilor, as well as director of the poor institution in Wolfenbüttel

He concluded a second marriage on June 14, 1746 in Uthlede with Trin Cathrin Risten.
