Johann Baptist Dähler (born October 26, 1808 in Appenzell ; † October 24, 1879 there , Catholic , entitled to live in Appenzell) was a Swiss politician ( Catholic Conservative ).

Life

Johann Baptist Dähler was born on October 26, 1808 in Appenzell as the son of the host of the Hecht Johann Anton Dähler. Dähler attended the Latin school in Appenzell as well as the lower grammar schools in Feldkirch and Yverdon . The owner of the Blattenrain farm lived on his private fortune. In addition, Dähler commanded the Innerrhod troops during the border occupation in 1857 .

He was married to Josepha Emilia nee Büchler. Johann Baptist Dähler died on October 24, 1879, two days before the age of 71 in Appenzell. His son Johann Baptist Edmund was also politically active for the conservatives.

Political career

As a member of the cantonal government of Appenzell Innerrhoden , Johann Baptist Dähler initially acted as witness from 1840 to 1841, corresponds to the military director, then from 1845 to 1849 and from 1866 to 1873 as state bag master . In addition, he headed the government between 1849 and 1865 as ruling and as a standing mayor . In addition, Dähler represented his party from 1850 to 1852 and from 1856 to 1857 in the Council of States and from 1861 to 1865 in the National Council .
