Johann Bauer (born September 7, 1888 in Ritzing , † August 27, 1971 in Vienna ) was an Austrian farmer and politician ( CS / ÖVP ). Bauer was married, a member of the Burgenland state government and a member of the Burgenland state parliament .

Life and work

Johann Bauer was born as the son of the farmer Matthias Bauer from Ritzing. He attended elementary school and subsequently worked as a farmer in Ritzing. In 1936, Bauer was appointed economics councilor. Between 1910 and 1914, Bauer was the managing director of the Ritzing consumer cooperative and did his military service between 1914 and 1918. On November 26, 1922, he founded the Burgenland's first Raiffeisenkasse in Ritzing and was chairman of the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives. In addition, from June 9, 1928, he was chairman of the supervisory board of the regional association of agricultural cooperatives in Burgenland. Between 1934 and 1938, Bauer was chairman of this association. Bauer was also the third president of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture between 1931 and 1936 and the second president from 1936 to 1937.

After his death, Bauer was buried in Ritzing.

Bauer was a member of the state party leadership of the Landbund between 1924 and 1926 and a local councilor in Ritzing between 1918 and 1927, but resigned from the Landbund in 1927. From 1930 he was the political mandate of the Christian Social Party and represented it between December 5, 1930 and October 31, 1934 in the Burgenland state parliament. In addition, he was from November 11, 1934 to March 12, 1938 a member of the state parliament, where he represented the status of "money, credit and insurance". In addition, Bauer was Vice-President of the State Parliament during this period. From 1934 Bauer was also the regional leader of the farmers 'union and from 1936 chairman of the regional farmers' council. After the end of the Second World War, Bauer was chairman of the Burgenland Farmers' Union between 1945 and 1955, which he re-established in September 1945. Between 1945 and 1955, Bauer was also president of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and from 1946 to 1955 chairman of the regional association of agricultural cooperatives in Burgenland. Between January 4, 1946 and June 11, 1956, Bauer was again a member of the Burgenland State Parliament and between October 1, 1945 and January 4, 1946, a member of the provisional state committee.
