Johann Bertram Scheid called Weschpfennig (* 16th November 1580 Castle Heltorf ; † 4. June 1662 Dusseldorf ) was bailiff , director of the Bergisch Land Parliament and Colonel hofmeister .

Life

Johann Bertram von Scheid is the son of Wilhelm von Scheid called Weschpfennig . He inherited the aristocratic residences Bröl (Herrenbröl), Heltorf , Saurenbach and Rötzinghofen as ancestor. He studied in Tübingen and then went on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem .

On July 31, 1610 he succeeded his uncle as bailiff of Angermund and was also bailiff of Landsberg . After he became treasurer and judge in Angermund , he became a game forester in the office of Angermund and wood count in the Huckinger Mark on May 8, 1611 . On November 13, 1620 he became a princely Jülisch-Bergischer Privy Councilor . On August 1, 1621 he was appointed Bergisches Landmarschall . In 1625 he was appointed director of the state parliament by Count Palatine Wolfgang Wilhelm . This later even appointed him to the chief steward . On January 27, 1642 Johann Bertram v. Scheidt called Weschpfennig from Emperor Ferdinand III. raised to the hereditary baron class. Since he only had two daughters, this one went out again. Nevertheless, corresponding entries were made later in civil registers. Johann Bertram had been married to Margaretha von Tengnagel, Drosten zu Ravenstein's daughter, since October 25, 1615 .
