Wilhelm von Scheid called Weschpfennig (* around 1535; † November 4, 1611 in Ratingen ) was Count Palatine and bailiff of the Office of Solingen and Burg as well as the Office of Beyenburg .

Life

Wilhelm was the son of Rorich von Scheidt called Weschpfennig . Around 1558 he entered the service of the United Duchies of Jülich-Kleve-Berg . In 1561 he became assessor at the Reich Chamber of Commerce in Speyer , and in 1563 he became an assessor there. On October 24, 1566, he was appointed councilor by his duke. On June 3, 1567, he was appointed Count Palatinate by Emperor Maximilian . In 1572 he was appointed bailiff of the offices of Solingen and Burg, as well as rentmaster in Burg. In 1593 he became bailiff of the pledged office of Beyenburg. He died on one of his numerous trips and was buried in the Kreuzherrenkirche in Düsseldorf.

Possessions

Wilhelm von Scheid owned six knights' seats entitled to the state assembly . He acquired the parent company in Bröl in 1569 from his older brother Engelbert, who was entitled to inherit. He received the Heltdorf house in the Angermund office in 1559 through his marriage. In 1584 he bought the Saurenbach farms in the parish of Ruppichteroth , and in 1585 he appeared on the knight's slip . He sold the Elsfeld house in the Blankenberg district in 1600 to his brother Gotthard. Wilhelm von Scheid acquired Rötzinghofen in the Miselohe office from an inheritance, and from 1596 he is named on the knight's slip as Herr von Rötzingshofen. In 1596 he acquired the noble house of Bilkrath (Pilkrath court) in the Angermund office.
