Johann Christoph Franz Giere

Johann Christoph Franz Giere (also: Franz Giere ; born August 17, 1774 in Hamburg , † March 17, 1825 in Hanover ) was a German miniature painter , lithographer and engraver in black art and art dealer .

Johann Christoph Franz Giere, born in Hamburg, can be traced back to Rome in 1805 and 1806 . He then lived and worked in Hanover.

Johann Christoph Franz Giere is believed to be the father of the lithographer Julius Giere, who later also worked in Hanover .

In 1816, through the mediation of Giere, the art collector Bernhard Hausmann succeeded in purchasing wing paintings . The works later became part of the collection in the State Gallery in the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover .
