Johann Dietrich Philipp Christian Ebeling also called Johann Philipp Ebeling (born December 31, 1753 in Lüneburg , † January 12, 1795 in Parchim ) was a German doctor and translator.

Life

JP Ebeling was the son of an evangelical clergyman who became superintendent of Lüneburg. Ebeling studied medicine from 1773 in Göttingen , 1774–1776 in Strasbourg , from 1777 in Edinburgh . He received his doctorate in Glasgow in 1779 and established himself as a doctor in Hamburg that same year . In 1780 he became city ​​physician in Parchim, in 1782 district physician . He translated many English and French works of medical, historical and geographical content.
