Johann Ehrenfried Pohl

Johann Ehrenfried Pohl (born September 12, 1746 in Leipzig , † October 25, 1800 in Dresden ) was a German botanist and pathologist .

Life

Pohl attended the Thomas School in Leipzig . He studied medicine at the University of Leipzig from 1763 to 1769 . 1772, he graduated as Dr. med. In 1773 he became associate professor for botany , in 1789 full professor for pathology and in 1796 for therapy in Leipzig. He was a member of the Leipzig Economic Society and since 1774 of the Roman-Imperial Academy of Natural Scientists (Leopoldina) .

His father is Johann Christoph Pohl .
