Johann Ernst Teichmann (born July 25, 1694 in Bayreuth , † 1746 in Stammbach ) was a Protestant pastor and historian.

Johann Ernst Teichmann, son of a margrave court rier , attended the Christian-Ernestinum grammar school in his native Bayreuth and later the prince school in Heilsbronn . He studied theology at the University of Wittenberg and the University of Altdorf . He became pastor in Haag in 1720 and in Stammbach in 1725, where he worked until the end of his life. His predecessor as Stammbach pastor was Georg Friedrich Eck from 1697 to 1725, from 1785 Christoph Heinrich Schlenk is known as his successor. Von Teichmann's works of poetry, a first chronicle by Stammbach and a description of the Himmelkron monastery have come down to us . The chronicle turned out to be flawed, but Teichmann's descriptions from his own time are valuable. In addition to a comprehensive chronicle, he also wrote a detailed account of the death of Margrave Georg Friedrich Karl for the Himmelkron Monastery , at which he was probably present in 1735. With the burial of Margrave Georg Friedrich Karl in the Himmelkron monastery, the Hohenzollern tied to the burial place of the Counts of Orlamünde . Teichmann's wife, née Schlenk from Gefrees , died at the young age of 35 on December 9, 1727. The tombstone, which originally covered Teichmann's crypt behind the church, is located outside of the Marienkirche and is the only one that has survived from this period . The inscription is a testimony to Teichmann's baroque poetry and an expression of love for his wife.
