Johann Ernst von Plötz

Johann "Hans" Ernst von Plötz (* 1708 in Pomerania ; † April 29, 1782 ) was a royal Prussian colonel, chief of grenadier battalion No. 6 , later chief of the cadet corps as well as governor von Balga and Herr auf Stresow and Bresow (district Stargard). He comes from the ancient Pomeranian family Ploetz .

Military career

He went into Prussian service in 1721 and was assigned to Infantry Regiment No. 15 (Goltz), where he became an ensign in 1732. He fought in both Silesian Wars . On May 10, 1753 he was promoted to major and received the newly established Grenadier Battalion No. 6 , which was formed from the grenadier companies of the garrison regiments No. 6 (Lattorf) and No. 8 (Quadt). During the Seven Years' War he was badly wounded in the Battle of Prague and in 1758 he therefore took his leave as lieutenant colonel and went to his estates.

In 1777 he bought the Bresow estate from Otto Ludwig von Flemming for 27 years.

On February 1, 1782 he received the order from the king to take over the cadet corps as the successor to Lieutenant General Johann von Buddenbrock . In addition, he was given the character of a colonel and on March 13, 1782 also the official administration of Balga. But he died on April 29, 1782.

family

He was married to Anna Sophie Friederike von Flemming (* December 17, 1746, † November 12, 1813). The widow later married Captain Philipp Johann Georg von Berg († June 15, 1800) from Infantry Regiment No. 13 (Braun).
