Life

Johann Evangelist was born in Schwandorf, Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 15, as the son of master baker Josef Michael Deischer and his wife Klaere, née. Born refused.

The visit to the Latin school in Schwandorf was followed by the study of theology and probably also music. He was ordained a priest on September 26, 1826. Due to his great musical talent, he became a student of the famous violinist Roth in Regensburg. He not only knew how to handle the violin himself with rare skill and fine taste, but also had the special gift of instructing qualified students in this art with the greatest success.

After he had worked as prefect in the study seminar in Amberg, he was called to the cathedral in Regensburg as Kapellmeister. Contemporaries report: ... that he knew how to raise church music that had come down to a higher level, worthy of its purpose. He succeeded in doing this because of his excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of music.
