He made his debut for the Burgenland on August 16, 1980 under coach Günter Kaltenbrunner in a 2-0 home win at Linz ASK , when he was in the starting line-up. Füzi scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on February 21, 1981, when he scored 2-0 in a 3-0 win over LASK. Füzi played his last Bundesliga game on May 24, 1985 under coach Felix Latzke in a 1-1 draw against First Vienna FC 1894 . His other stations as a player were the 1. Wiener Neustädter SC (1985–1986) and SV Sigless (from 1986), where he also let his active career end.

As a trainer

From July 1, 1992 to December 31, 1994, Johann Füzi was the coach of SC Eisenstadt in the Regionalliga Ost (SC Eisenstadt had meanwhile been relegated to the third level). After he reached third place in the 1992/93 season , it was less successful in the following 1993/94 season , which is why Füzi was replaced during the winter break, after being in danger of relegation with the 13th place. As a result, Füzi took over the coaching position at ASV Steinbrunn until 1996.

At the beginning of the 1996/97 season, Füzi was signed by the Burgenland Football Academy and coached various teams until the end of 2005. On January 1, 2006, he was appointed sports director of the Burgenland Football Academy.
