Johann Ferdinand Droste zu Senden (* August 15, 1684 ; † December 16, 1723 ) was a treasurer in the Principality of Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Johann Ferdinand Droste zu Senden grew up as the son of Jobst Adolf Droste zu Senden and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth von Nagel zu Vornholz (1654–1705, daughter of General Dietrich Hermann von Nagel ) together with his siblings Mauritz Dietrich (Canon in Münster), Johann Karl , Levin Christoph (Canon in Hildesheim), Anna Katharina (Canon in Asbeck ), Petronella and Isabella (Dean in Nottuln ) in the ancient Westphalian noble family Droste . In 1715 he married Charlotte Isabella von Brabeck zu Hemer and Lethmate (* 1694). The son Franz Arnold Mauritz (1717–1762) emerged from the marriage.

Career and work

Before Johann Ferdinand was sworn up to the knighthood of Münster on November 30, 1711 , he served as captain in the Schwartz Regiment Neisse. He was the representative of the knighthood in the state parliament , a body made up of the three estates. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the feudal system in the bishopric of Münster. In 1713 he inherited the Isingholt house, one of the largest homesteads in Nienberge . Johann Ferdinand was the prince-bishop's chamberlain and chief lord.
