Johann Friedrich Martens

Johann Friedrich Martens (born December 14, 1803 in Hamburg ; † August 10, 1897 there ) was a German businessman .

Life

Martens was a timber merchant in Hamburg. From 1855, his company was located on Grasbrook near Smith'schen Wasserkunst .

He was involved in the St. Catherine's Church . There he was adjunct from 1843 and 1844 , from 1845 to 1861 one hundred eighties (1859, 1860 Jurat ), from 1862 to 1870 sixty (1863 coffin administrator ) and from 1871 to 1896 church mayor. Martens also served as a fire fund citizen from 1848 to 1853.

Martens was elected by the parish of St. Katharinen as a replacement for the Hamburg citizenship and convened in 1860 in place of the resigned Henning Claus Christoffer Heuck . Until 1865 he was a member of the citizenry as a member of parliament.
