Johann Georg Agricola
Johann Georg Agricola (born October 25, 1558 in Amberg , † November 20, 1633 in Regensburg ) was a German medic.
Live and act
Johann Georg was born in Amberg in 1558 as the son of Georg Agricola . Like his father, he also chose the medical profession. In 1582 he was at the University of Heidelberg enrolled and was there on 26 November 1582 bachelor . In 1588 he started studying medicine at the University of Wittenberg and finished it in 1593.
On October 31, 1594, when he returned to his native city, he was elected city physician . There he worked, with interruptions from 1614 to 1621, until 1629. Due to his Lutheran faith, he turned to Regensburg in February 1629 where he worked as a general practitioner. Agricola has become known for its combination of natural history and its medical uses.
