Johann Georg Berlich
Johann Georg Berlich (born May 24, 1625 in Sandersdorf , † September 22, 1675 in Chemnitz ) was a German local politician and manor owner . He was mayor of the city of Chemnitz in the Electorate of Saxony .
Life
Johann Georg Berlich came from a Thuringian civil servant family. His grandfather Peter Berlich was a bailiff of the Tautenburg office and a district judge in Bürgel . His father was the later monastery superintendent, canon and dean of the monastery St. Sicti in Merseburg Georg Berlich , who was also consistorial councilor in the Merseburg consistory .
Like his ancestors, Berlich embarked on an administrative career. At the age of 15 Jagren he took part in the Disputatio Theologica Quarta De Scripturae Divisione Et Dei Natura in Halle . In 1653 he was involved in the creation of the Latin pamphlet Centuria positionum juridicarum De juribus foeminarum singularibus [...] decem dispvtationibvs ... which was published by Johannes Wittigau in Leipzig . Two years later, Johann Georg Berlich was elected mayor of Chemnitz. In total, Berlich was the governing mayor of Chemnitz eight times .
He was the heir to Geiselröhlitz, where he owned the manor there, which also included interest income from Schortau , to which the Counts of Brühl were later also entitled. Christian Friedrich Garmann dedicated his publication De miraculis mortuorum , which appeared only in 2003, to him .
He was married to Maria, born Tzschoppel († 1670), on July 13, 1653. This marriage remained childless, so that after his death his property fell to his siblings and their families. Among them was the later Leipzig university professor Georg Möbius , who was married to his sister Christina Berlich, born in 1628.
