Sandersdorf is a district of the town of Sandersdorf-Brehna in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the town of Sandersdorf-Brehna on July 1, 2009.

Sandersdorf is located in the north of the city between Zörbig in the west and Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the east.

history

Sandersdorf was mentioned for the first time in 1373 in the documents of the Brehna monastery . The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Bitterfeld until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place to Prussia came only in 1816 the district Bitterfeld in the administrative district of Merseburg of Saxony Province allocated to which he belonged until 1944th

In 1992 the places Sandersdorf, Heideloh, Ramsin, Renneritz and Zscherndorf formed the administrative community Sandersdorf , from which the unified community Sandersdorf emerged when it was dissolved on July 1, 2004.

On July 1, 2009, the community of Sandersdorf merged with the city of Brehna and the places Glebitzsch, Petersroda and Roitzsch to form the city of Sandersdorf-Brehna. The city rights of Brehna were transferred to Sandersdorf-Brehna.

The coat of arms - designed by Magdeburg State Archives Councilor Otto Korn - was awarded to Sandersdorf on August 7, 1939 by the President of the Province of Saxony.

Transport links

Sandersdorf was connected to the rail network in 1897 with the opening of the branch line Bitterfeld – Stumsdorf . Local rail passenger transport was discontinued in 2002. Deutsche Bahn AG closed the line and leased it to Zörbiger Infrastrukturgesellschaft mbH until 2025.

The federal highways 183 and 184 run east of the town .

Attractions

The Protestant Church of Sandersdorf , a Romanesque stone church, is the oldest building in the village.
