Johann Georg Bindrim (born May 30, 1650 in Rövershagen , † May 16, 1678 in Rostock ) was a German Protestant theologian . He taught at the University of Rostock .

Life

The son of (Johann) Georg Bindrim the Elder (* 1601 in Schmalkalden; † February 14, 1676 in Rövershagen; 1632 to 1676 pastor in Rövershagen) and his wife Anna Griese (* March 1614; † February 25, 1684, married Bindrim the Elder) 1632; Griese's parents: Daniel Griese, 1605 to 1631 pastor in Rövershagen, and Ilsabe Elisabeth Falckenberg) attended a Rostock school, since 1664 one in Lüneburg and then in Quedlinburg . From 1668 he studied at the University of Jena , in the semester 1670/1671 at the University of Wittenberg and then at the University of Rostock. There he received his master's degree in 1677 .

Bindrim married Anna Sandhagen on October 8, 1673, who lived from 1643 to 1712.

In May 1676 the University of Rostock appointed Bindrim professor of theology. He was supposed to be given the office of Extraordinarius , but on April 3, 1677, he actually received the post of second Ducal Extraconcilarius. Paul Falkenberg explained this in 1900 either by mistake, as the government at that time sought a separation between extraordinary and extra conciliaria, or as an attempt to convert the professorship. His inauguration took place amid protests.

At the university, Bindrim succeeded Enoch Schwante (Svantenius) the Elder . One year after receiving the professorship, however, Bindrim died at the age of 27. He was succeeded by Justus Christoph Schomer .
