Johann Georg Hertel

Johann Georg Hertel (pseudonyms: Magister Reimlein , Schillero Rescidivo ) (born February 1, 1801 in Augsburg ; † November 4, 1874, ibid.) Was a German doctor and writer .

Life

Born as the son of an art dealer from an old family of engravers, Hertel studied medicine in Erlangen , Würzburg , Göttingen , Berlin and Munich after attending grammar school in Augsburg . During his studies in Erlangen he became a member of the Bubenreuther fraternity in 1818/19 . In 1822 he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD .

After completing his studies, he worked as a general practitioner and in 1872 became medical advisor in Augsburg. He also works as a pediatrician and poor doctor . During the cholera period he did a lot for the Augsburg hospital. Under the pseudonym Magister Reimlein he published the Buckeliade in 1829 , which made him famous. As Schillero Rescidivo he wrote The Political Fair .
