Johann Georg Patzenhofer
Johann Georg Patzenhofer (born August 4, 1815 in Moosach near Munich , Kingdom of Bavaria , † September 20, 1873 in Berlin ) was a German brewer .
Patzenhofer founded the Bavarian beer brewery in Berlin in 1855 and brought Munich beer to Prussia . He was the first to brew dark beer in the style of Nuremberg , Erlanger and Kulmbacher beers in Berlin . With an annual production volume of 11,000 tons of beer, the brewery specialist converted his company into the financially strong Friedrichshöhe Aktien-Brauerei-Gesellschaft , formerly Patzenhofer .
Johann Georg Patzenhofer rests in a family grave complex in the St. Hedwig cemetery at Liesenstrasse 8.
In 1913, Batzenhoferstraße was named after him in his birthplace Moosach .
