Johann Geyer
Johann Wilhelm Rudolf Geyer (born January 7, 1807 in Augsburg , † November 26, 1875 in Augsburg) was a German genre and history painter .
Life
From 1826 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Clemens von Zimmermann . Study trips to Belgium and France followed in 1830. In 1833 he was appointed professor at the polytechnic school in Augsburg . In 1836 he received an award at the Munich industrial exhibition. In 1865 he quit his job as a professor because the polytechnic school in Augsburg was closed.
Most of his pictures are now in the possession of the municipal art collections in Augsburg .
