Johann Heinrich Mylius the Elder

Johann Heinrich Mylius , Latinized as Iohannes Henricus Mylius , (born September 8, 1659 in Halle (Saale) , † November 2, 1722 in Leipzig ) was a German legal scholar and manor owner .

Life

He was the son of the princely Saxon chamber master Heinrich Otto Mylius in Halle and Weißenfels , who was also a salt pan in Halle. Christian Otto Mylius was his brother.

In 1676 he began to study law at the University of Leipzig , where he later received his doctorate in law. In 1712 he became a royal Polish and electoral Saxon councilor and from 1709 senior of the Schöppenstuhl in Leipzig. He was also an assessor at the Law Faculty of the University of Leipzig.

In addition to the grain leases near Landsberg, he owned the Möckern manor near Leipzig .

After his death, his two oldest surviving sons inherited his father's fief.

Johann Heinrich Mylius left behind numerous legal publications and treatises, most of which are written in Latin. These include:

family

Horn, born in his marriage to Maria Magdalena, had several children. Gustav Heinrich Mylius followed in his father's footsteps as a doctor of law. Adolph Heinrich Mylius also received his doctorate and became a lawyer in Leipzig.
