Johann Hiebel
Johann Hiebel (* 1681 in southern Germany ; † June 17, 1755 in Prague ) was a German painter and fresco artist who worked in Prague .
Live and act
Hiebel studied in Wangen im Allgäu with Johann Siehelbein, then in Munich with Johann Kaspar Sing . He continued his studies in Vienna in 1706 with the Italian illusionist fresco artist Andrea Pozzo .
From 1709 Hiebel worked in Prague, where he was elected a member of the Prague Painters' Guild in 1710 and its senior elder in 1730. He held this office until 1749.
He worked with Michael Wenzel Halbax and Peter Johann Brandl on fresco painting . Most of his works were commissioned by the Jesuit order .
In addition to the frescoes, he created some oil paintings and copper engravings .
Hiebel was a member of the Marian Congregation at the Clementinum . He was buried in Prague's Tyn Church.
