Johann III. (Mecklenburg)
Johann III, lord of Mecklenburg (* after 1266 ; † May 27, 1289 near Poel ) was Prince of Mecklenburg from 1287 to 1289 .
He was the son of Heinrich I and ruled 1287–1289 together with his brother Heinrich II. Under the reign of his uncle Nikolaus III.
He was married to Helena von Rügen († August 9, 1315), the daughter of Wizlaw II von Rügen since November 3, 1288 and had one child with her, Luitgard von Mecklenburg. He drowned near Poel and was then buried in the Wismar Franciscan monastery.
His daughter Luitgard (around 1289; † 1352) married Gerhard II von Hoya in 1302 .
