Johann Karl von Sparr (* 1667 ; † March 20, 1737 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and canon in Münster .

Life

Johann Karl Freiherr von Sparr was born as the son of Anselm Kasimir von Sparr zu Partenheim and Greiffenberg (Princely-Munster Major General) and his wife Margaretha Petronella von der Recke from the Uckermark noble family von Sparr . Johanns grandfather Rudolf rafters of Greiffenberg was Kurkölner High Chancellor, acquired possessions in Westphalia and became the progenitor of the Westphalian line of his house. His son Nikolaus was Commander of the Teutonic Order .

Johann Karl von Sparr studied at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome from 1687 to 1691 . In 1691, he received the Dompräbende that after the death of Canon Johann Ernst von Brabeck had become free. On September 24, 1701 he was ordained a priest and in 1709 opted for the archdeaconate on the Drein . In 1712 Sparr was appointed Domkellnereiassessor and two years later elected provost of St. Martini in Münster .
