Rudolf rafters of Greiffenberg (* unknown, † 1639 ) was Electoral Mainz upper office man in Koenigstein im Taunus and Kurkölner High Chancellor.

origin

Rudolf Sparr von Greiffenberg came from the Uckermark noble family von Sparr. His grandfather was Valentin von Sparr auf Greiffenberg . His parents were Franz von Sparr († 1621) and his wife Anna von Sparr from the Trampe family.

Life

Rudolf Sparr von Greiffenberg entered the Kurmainzer service and became a bailiff in the Dieburg and Prozelten offices . In 1625 he became senior bailiff in Königstein. At Christmas 1631 the Swedes took the fortress and the city of Königstein under King Gustav II Adolf . Rudolf Sparr von Greiffenberg had to flee and resigned as senior bailiff.

As part of his escape, he entered the service of Kurkölner and became the Elector of Cologne. As a result, he acquired property in Westphalia and became the progenitor of the Westphalian line of his house.

He married Anna Katharina von Partenheim, the heir to Philipp von Partenheim , with whom his family died out. The couple had the following children:
