Johann Koep (upper age, 1705)

Johann Koep (born October 7, 1705 in Hamburg ; † January 10, 1777 there ) was a German businessman and Hamburg senior citizen .

Life

As a citizen, Koep held numerous public offices. In 1737 he was elected to the Bürgerzoll, in 1738 to the beer accise and in 1739 as adjunct , war commissioner and provisional at the orphanage . In 1740 he was elected to the building yard and in 1741 as a sub- deacon . In 1746 he became commercial judge at the lower court , 1748 to the artillery and the bank , 1749 to the admiralty , 1755 to the jurate and to the district court , 1757 to the deacon, 1758 to the coffin administrator , 1760 to the convent and to the deputation for the construction of the Michaeliskirche and 1764 to the Appointed member of the deputation for the acceptance of foreigners. In 1765 he became a member of the deputation for the deepening of the Herrengraben and in 1766 he became a member of the orphanage.

On October 10, 1768 he was finally elected senior elder in the parish of Sankt Katharinen . As such, he was sworn corpse in the same year and in 1772 President of the College of the Elderly.

family

Koep was a son of Konrad Koep and Katharina Margaretha Schlötel. On April 26, 1735, he married Maria Westphalen (1713–1748), daughter of councilor Jürgen Westphalen . Seven children sprang from this marriage.
