Johann Krasny

Johann Krasny (* 1800 in Pilsen , Bohemia , today the Czech Republic ; † May 29, 1864 in Kaisersteinbruch ) was an Austro-Hungarian master stonemason and sculptor of historicism .

From Pilsen in Bohemia to the Kaiser quarry in the Leithagebirge in Hungary

The unmarried stonemason journeyman Johann Krasny from Pilsen , the father Johann K. formerly a military man (this name suggests a higher rank ), currently an invalid , mother Magdalena, married the maid Theresia Pansippin on November 15, 1825 in the Kaisersteinbruch church , Daughter of the master stonemason Johann Evangelist Pansipp and Theresia Kruckenfellnerin.

From Hartberg in Styria to the hard Kaiserstein in the Leithagebirge

Laurenz Pansipp , the first of this name in the quarry, moved from Hartberg in Styria to the Leithagebirge in 1776 through his marriage in Kaisersteinbruch . This paved Johann's path to becoming a master.

The Leitha limestone , a fossil-rich sand - lime brick deposited on the edges of the Vienna and Graz basins , was used for many large buildings in Vienna and Graz. Quarries were z. B. in Aflenz near Leibnitz and Wildon in Styria and just in Kaisersteinbruch . He was very familiar with this rock.

The Kaisersteinbruch stonemasonry trade was represented at that time by the masters Mathias Drexler , Franz Xaver Edelmann, Anton Gehmacher, Carl Gehmacher, Michael Gehmacher, Johann Evangelist Pansipp, Anton Teuschl and Joseph Winkler .

Home ownership in the land register

On October 24, 1851, Johann Krasny applied for an entry in the land register: Kleinhaus Konsk.Nr. 66 next to the stately meadow and Stephan Heischmann's house, next to the garden located next to it, top no. 101, area 130 square fathoms.

Owner: Johann Krasny and his wife Theresia, née Pansipp.

Legal Title: According to the of the land registry office the reign royal court issued warranty certificate at 31 December 1839 this house was built in 1839 by these spouses jointly on an assigned by the rule of royal scratch. Valued at 1,000 guilders, the CMz convention coin.

Senior master of the Kaisersteinbruch stonemason trade in 1853

In 1853 Krasny was the head of the Kaisersteinbruch stonemason trade. This is evidenced by a confirmation of an apprenticeship certificate signed by Johann Krasny, which the Steinmetzmuseum Kaisersteinbruch has.

In 1853, 60 men worked in the quarry and brought 1,706 m³ stonemason stones, which were mainly sold to Vienna. It turns out that sales were quite good.

Zeilerbruch

This huge quarry was operated jointly by several tenants, the masters Franz Winkler, Johann Evangelist Pansipp and son Franz, Johann Krasny and Stephan Heischmann (his son-in-law), most recently in 1912 by Alexander Krukenfellner alone.

death

Master Krasny died of lung addiction on May 29, 1864 at the age of 64 . The widow Theresia no longer married and successfully continued the trade. She died of pulmonary edema on May 9, 1876 at the age of 74 .
