Johann Nicolaus Horst

Johann Nicolaus Horst (* 1601 in Blomberg ; † October 1685 ) was a German Lutheran theologian and court preacher in Celle .

Life

Horst, son of a pastor, completed his studies after attending school and university in Minden , Lemgo and Rinteln as a master's degree and became a teacher in Norden in 1630 and rector in Minden in 1633. From 1648 he was pastor at the Marktkirche in Hanover . In 1650 he was appointed court preacher in Celle. In 1679 he retired.

Works

Horst wrote, among other things, a funeral sermon for the Duchess Anna Eleonore (Celle 1659) and for the statesman Friedrich Schenck von Winterstädt .
