Johann Paul Bauer

Johann Paul Bauer (born June 9, 1933 in Nuremberg ) is a German legal scholar and former university professor.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1954 in his hometown, he studied economics ( Diplom-Kaufmann ) and jurisprudence in Munich and Erlangen (first state examination in 1958 / state examination in 1963). During his legal traineeship , he was assistant to Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld at the law faculty of the University of Erlangen , who is also in charge of his doctoral thesis on “International private law in the legal system”. Heinrich Hubmann was the second reviewer. The doctorate to Dr. iur. 1968 followed by other assistant year, a postdoctoral fellowship from the German Research Foundation and then, in the summer semester 1972, the Habilitation with the Heinrich Hubmann and Dieter Leipold peer-reviewed journal "The right of the worker thought for a competition law in the labor market" ( Venia legendi for Civil Law, Labor Law , International Private Law and Comparative Law). In 1974 he successfully applied for a professorship for lifetime private law , succeeding Peter Bähr , at Saarland University . In 1998 he retired there.
