Johann Paul Inama von Sternegg (born June 26, 1877 in Innsbruck- Wilten , † October 28, 1950 in Vienna ) was an Austrian administrative lawyer .

Life

Johann Paul Inama von Sternegg came from the Inama family , whose roots lie in the Non Valley ( Welschtirol ). He was the second son of the statistician Theodor Inama von Sternegg .

After attending the Schottengymnasium, he studied law at the universities of Innsbruck and Vienna . After receiving his doctorate in 1901, he entered the civil service as a concept intern (preliminary stage to project manager) at the kk maritime authority in Trieste . In 1904 he was called to the Imperial and Royal Ministry of Commerce in Vienna. Within the maritime authority of Vienna, he was made Ministerial Vice Secretary in 1911/1912 and Ministerial Secretary in 1916. In this role he prepared the construction of the Danube-Oder Canal and drafted several bills. A shipping subsidy law, a seaman's code and a sea ​​fishing law come from his pen.

Inama was also involved in drawing up the Brest-Litovsk peace treaty and in the liquidation of Austrian assets in the successor states. Inama was also a member of the Imperial and Royal Higher Prize Court .

Johann Paul Inama von Sternegg rose through various functions within the Ministry of Commerce. In 1919 the Ministerial Secretary became a section councilor in the State Office for Commerce, Industry and Commerce . From 1924 he headed the trade contract department as a ministerial advisor and from 1935 as section head . In 1936 he became a board member of the trade policy section of the Federal Ministry for Trade and Transport.
