Career

The defender Hans Schmidradner made his debut in the A-League in 1963/64 in the dress of Wiener Austria , but was only used in friendly games in the following two years. So he decided to move to the smaller first division club Vienna , where he was able to gain a foothold as a regular player, but had to accept relegation from the league in 1967/68 . Hans Schmidradner switched to the Wiener Sport-Club , where he was runner-up in 1968/69 and also reached the ÖFB Cup final, which, however, went 2-1 to Rapid . Thanks to the good performance with the Dornbacher, he made his international debut on September 21, 1969 under Leopold Šťastný for the Austrian national team in a 1-1 draw against Germany and was soon the first choice in the team.

In 1971, Hans Schmidradner decided to join the German second division Kickers Offenbach , and a year later he played with the club in the German Bundesliga . Until 1976 he - like his national team colleague Josef Hickersberger - stayed with the club in the league and during this time just barely missed qualifying as a German legionnaire with the national team for the 1974 World Cup in Germany. After completing the qualification with Austria on the same point and on goal with Sweden , the team lost just under 1: 2 in a play-off in Gelsenkirchen. After a year in the 2nd Bundesliga with FV Würzburg 04 , the defender returned to Austria to finish his career in 1977, where he played in the 1st division for ASK Linz , but was relegated to the second division there .
