Johann VI. von Sitsch (also: Johannes von Sitsch ; * August 18, 1552 in Stübendorf near Ottmachau ; † April 25, 1608 in Neisse ) was Prince-Bishop of Breslau .

Life

Johann von Sitsch studied law at German and Italian universities. In 1569 he became a canon and in 1585 a provost at the Wroclaw Cathedral .

After Bishop Paul Albert , elected in 1599, died before his episcopal ordination , the Wroclaw Cathedral Chapter elected Johann von Sitsch as his successor on July 18, 1600. Then emperor appointed him Rudolf II. To the upper governor of Silesia . In 1606 Johann von Sitsch held a diocesan synod.

After his death he was buried in the parish church of St. James in Neisse.
