Johann Wohl

Johann Wohl (born June 25, 1920 in Mühlbach am Hochkönig ; † December 24, 2011 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and managing director. From 1954 to 1967 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

education and profession

Probably was born in Mühlbach am Hochkönig in Pongau and spent his childhood and youth in Upper Austria . He attended elementary school in Thomasroith from 1926 to 1931 and then completed secondary school in Attnang-Puchheim from 1931 to 1936 . In 1937 he moved to the Federal Commercial Academy in Linz and passed his Matura there in 1941. He then did military service in World War II between 1941 and 1945 .

After his return from the war, Wohl returned to Mühlbach am Hochkönig in 1945 and from that year worked for Mitterberger Kupferbergbau GesmbH in Mühlbach. He was appointed commercial director in 1949 and acted as public administrator between 1954 and 1957. From 1957 to 1977 he was managing director of Mitterberger Kupferbergbau Gesmbh. After his time as managing director at Mitterberger Kupferbergbau Gesmbh, Wohl worked from 1977 to 1988 as managing director of Mühlbacher Tourismusgesellschaft.

Politics and functions

Probably the SPÖ stepped forward in 1945 and acted from 1945 to 1955 as SPÖ local party chairman for Mühlbach am Hochkönig. He was also involved within the party from 1968 to 1988 as a member of the state party executive and state party treasurer and was a member of the state party presidium of the SPÖ Salzburg between 1970 and 1988. Furthermore, he worked as a state board member of the "Working Group of Socialist Community Representatives". He had his first political mandate from 19489 to 1962 as Vice Mayor and Financial Advisor of Mühlbach am Hochköniginne, and from December 11, 1954 to October 10, 1967, he was a member of the Salzburg State Parliament, where he was Deputy Club Chairman between 1966 and 1967 exercised by the SPÖ parliamentary group. From 1972 to 1989 he was a member of the Advisory Board for Statistics on Foreign Trade.
